The social care sector is facing a growing recruitment crisis. According to Care Home Professional, 71.9% of care providers say recruitment has become more difficult post-lockdown, while 82.8% report that traditional recruitment costs continue to rise. Meanwhile, Skills for Care reports there are 131,000 vacancies across England’s adult social care sector, an 8.3% vacancy rate and a 24.2% turnover rate, highlighting the ongoing workforce challenges.

The Homecare Association notes that 90% of care providers are struggling with rising workforce costs, and 95% are deeply concerned about the impact of National Living Wage increases.
