Quality Care Group

In this month’s Employee Spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Emily Whiting, Head of Strategy at Quality Care Group (QCG).
How long have you been with Quality Care Group?

I have been with the company since 2013, incorporating a break to retrain as a teacher, but came back for the great work life balance at QCG.

What does your job entail?

As Head of Strategy, I work closely with the Directors to shape and drive our strategic objectives. Also working alongside the managers to support their teams to reach our financial objectives. I develop relationships with insurers to ensure our clients have access to the best insurance solutions. It’s a new role that continues to evolve and I enjoy getting involved in different projects.

What’s your secret talent no one knows about?

I was a keen horse rider as a teenager and would love to find the time to ride again in the future.

In terms of successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am proud that I have simultaneously progressed my career at QCG whilst raising my two daughters and gaining a law degree with the Open University. I continue to learn and grow within QCG and am excited to see where my career takes me next. I am passionate about professional development and am currently studying with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?

I work with a talented team and take inspiration from so many people I work alongside. However, if I had to single out two people at this moment in time, it would be Darren, the Managing Director, his entrepreneurial spirit and energy ensures that QCG are always looking ahead for our next challenge. In addition, Simon, the Head of Customer Solutions, who has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience with him when he joined QCG last year.

How have you grown professionally while with Quality Care Group?

During my time with the company, I started as an Admin Assistant way back in 2013, moving through a variety of roles to my current position as Head of Strategy. I’ve learnt so much along the way it’s impossible to condense it down here. Alongside the huge amount I have learnt about insurance broking and the care sector, I would say my ability to work with others and bring out the best in the teams I work with have been particular growth areas.

Tell me something about you that most people don’t know...

I am a keen runner and enjoy being part of a run club near my home, ‘Henfield Joggers’
